We have been finding out how maps work, locating continents and seas on world maps, finding out about how a key works and drawing and locating places on our very own maps of St Lucia.
We visited Bolton Methodist Church, looking at features of a church and why a church is important in the Christian faith.
On Friday 19th March we celebrated Red Nose Day. We came to school dressed in red clothes. Lots of us had a red nose to wear. We played a 'words within a word' game, worked out some red nose day themed maths problems, made superhero masks and we made and decorated our very own red nose day themed biscuits.
We are really enjoying learning all about cricket in PE. We are working on the skills we will need to be an effective cricket player.
On Friday 12th March we celebrated World Book Day. We came to school dressed as our favourite book characters or in our pyjamas ready for a bedtime story. We enjoyed drawing our favourite books and writing a speech bubble about why we loved that book, working out who the 'masked reader' was and we made binoculars so we could be detectives- looking for different words/pictures/items in a range of books around the classroom.
Today we used the wildlife area to identify and name animals in their habitats, by mapping a habitat and identifying its inhabitants. The children were given clues related to animals that they could find within their local habitat and had to explore the wildlife area in pairs to find pictures of them.
We have been so excited this week writing and posting letters to Father Christmas (or our parents). We can't wait to see if we get a letter back!
On Friday 13th November, we celebrated Children in Need. We did lots of fun activities throughout the day. We had a super day!
As part of our 'Proud to be from Bradford' topic we made collages of different park equipment that we saw on our trip to Peel Park. We used different shades of colours to create the pictures.
