Mirrors

In science, we explored using mirrors and learned how they can be used to reflect light. We enjoyed trying to change the direction of light shining from a torch and directing it onto an object.

Marble Runs

During science week, we had lots of fun creating our own marble runs! Some parts were harder than we thought, but we worked well together in teams to build our own courses for the marbles to travel along.

Science Week

In science week, we enjoyed lots of fun activities and learnt all about famous scientists and inventors. On the Friday, we came to school dressed up based on the 'science' theme.

Parts of plants

In science, we enjoyed learning about plants and their different parts. We looked closely at some plants to identify which part is which.

Ancient Egypt

As part of our theme on Ancient Egypt, we made our own Egyptian necklaces.

World Book Day

For World Book Day, we came to school dressed as our favourite book characters and enjoyed lots of activities linked to reading.

We learnt how fossils are formed and created our own fossils.

In science, we have been learning about rocks and soils. We went on a walk around school looking at the different types of rock we could see.

Christmas

For Children In Need we came to school dressed up and took part in fun activities. We enjoyed raising money for this charity.

In science we learned how our muscles help our bodies to move. We made working muscle models to help us see how the muscle work in pairs and how they contract and relax as we move.

In art, we created paintings of Salts Mill using watercolours.

We carried out a science experiment to find out which is the healthiest drink. We looked closely at the sugar content in various drinks and were quite shocked to see how much sugar some of them contain! Water is the healthiest drink we can have. Surprisingly, the milkshake had the most sugar of all the drinks we looked at.
