We had a fantastic time dressing up for World Book Day and sharing our love of reading in Kandinsky Class.

We had a fantastic trip to Skipton castle - we learnt so much about the features of a castle.

We loved using the i-pads to make our own abstract compositions.

In our Computing lessons we have been learning how to use a Painting package on the i-pads. We have learnt how to use different tools and how to save our work.

We loved using atlases and a globe to help us with our geography , learning about the 7 continents.

We really enjoyed dressing up and learning about Remembrance Day and WW1.

As part of our whole school celebration of European Day of Languages, we focussed on Spain in Kandinsky class. We came to school dressed in the colours of the Spanish flag. We learnt how to greet people in Spanish and count to diez 10. We learnt some facts about Spain and tried some Spanish food. The best part was finding out about the famous artist Pablo Picasso and doing our own version of an abstract cubist portrait. Adios Amigos

We celebrated Harvest by dressing up in Autumnal colours. We found out about harvesting crops and then we used some fruit and vegetables to do some printing. We mixed colours, used our fingers added googly eyes and generally had a great time doing some more super art.

As part of our science we looked at different types of trees and their seeds. We found lots of pine cones on the evergreen trees and a few acorns on the oak trees.

We use lots of equipment and different images to help us understand numbers.

We enjoyed harvesting some lovely apples in our school orchard.

We had lots of fun as we launched our theme work for this term as part of the whole school Proud to be from Bradford work. We listened to lots of different music you could hear around Bradford and did some Bhangra dancing. We looked at the different groups of musical instruments and worked in teams to make our own collages.

We enjoyed finding out about our class artist Kandinsky and his life. He loved listening to jazz when he was painting and we listened to some Miles Davis. We made our own version of his painting Concentric Circles - what do you think?

We started the year thinking about the Leader in Me habits and thinking about how they could help us learn. We read and talked about a story that celebrated being different.
