Ian's Mobile Farm

Ian's Mobile Farm came to visit the children in Great Oak Nursery. He brought a selection of animals. The children were so brave and kind, meeting and caring for the animals. They learnt some new facts about the animals that they didn’t know before. The children also loved Ian’s sheepdog Meg!

Forces and Motion Workshop

Nursery had a special visit from a scientist called Gaynor. She delivered a Forces and Motion workshop for some of the children. We used cars, marbles, and pendulums to create some large-scale artwork. We had so much fun!

Pirate day

Nursery really enjoyed our pirate day. We went on a treasure hunt to look for some chocolate coins. We then had a special surprise in the hall!

Nursery enjoyed going to France on an aeroplane. We had our own boarding passes and passports! We had so much fun!

Easter craft session

On Tuesday 25th March, we had an Easter craft session with our family members. We enjoyed making some Easter bunnies and decorating biscuits. They were so yummy!

World Book Day

We were very exited to launch 50 Things to do before you're Five in Great Oak Nursery. We enjoyed completing some of the activities in our classroom, especially looking at the secret treasures!

Chinese New year

Nursery have enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year this week. We painted some lanterns and enjoyed role- playing in our Chinese takeaway. We then had noodles and prawn crackers for our snack!

Nursery had some surprise visitors in our classroom this week. We came back from street dance to find a broken chair, bear footprints and some porridge scattered on our floor! We looked for clues and found out it was Goldilocks and the Three Bears! We then had to search for Mrs Holdsworth to help us fix our broken chair!

Life Caravan

On Tuesday 26th November, We had a very special visit from the life caravan. We met Jane, who taught us about our bodies. We even got to meet Harold the giraffe!

Diwali

Harvest Day

On Friday 18th October, we celebrated Harvest Day. We came to school dressed in Autumnal colours. We made scarecrows, leaf people and pumpkins using the playdough!
