Spring Term: Mental Health Day.
During our mental health day, we looked at different ways we could look after our own mental health. We took part in yoga as a way of relaxing and being calm. Our My Happy Mind module 'Celebrate' taught us all about celebrating who we are grateful for and why. We also spread the happiness by writing little messages on postcards and delivered flowers to staff members around school.
Spring Term: During our Maths lessons, we have been learning about one more and one less, partitioning numbers, tangrams, tetromino and pentomino arrangements and started to look at 3D shapes. We have learnt so much through our practical lessons.
Spring Term: During our English lessons we have used two books to deepen our writing skills.
We took part in a learning hook to predict which story we were reading first. From the clues, we identified it as......Hansel and Gretel.
Our second story was 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea'. We started off our learning by taking part in a tea party.
Spring Term: Part of our computing topic is to input data into a robot to allow it to move. The use of programming supported our learning when we had to follow step by step instructions. We learnt that if a wrong button is pressed, the programming of the robot fails.
Autumn Term: As part of our Science topic, we are learning all about the different seasons. Each week, we look at a different season in detail and learn new vocabulary to help us on our learning journey. Recently, we took a trip to our wildlife area to observe how the trees have changed from Summer to Autumn. We even knew the new names of the trees!
Autumn Term: As part of our Geography and History topic, Proud To Be From Bradford, we looked at our local area. We used our geography skills to read a map and locate shops within the area. We created our own maps that helped us find our way to Morrisons.
During Children In Need, we took part in the BBC Gladiators Challenge.
We created our own gladiator names, shared our super strengths and put them to the test, in our very own obstacle course.
Black History Day was celebrated in Kandinsky class by looking at the famous Granville Woods.
Granville was a very intelligent inventor that created the telegraph for trains. This enabled train drivers to  communicate to one another. We became inspired by his fascinating inventions of the rollercoaster. As a class we took part in a virtual rollercoaster ride and created our own inventions.
