All About Elgar

Edward Elgar is a famous musical composer who was born on the 2nd June 1857. HE is most famous for his orchestral works on songs such as Pomp and Circumstance March. Many of his songs have entered the British and international classical concert repertoire.

He also composed choral works, chamber music and many other well-known songs. In 1924, he was appointed Master of the King's Musick.

Despite being born in England, most of Elgar's musical influences were from continental Europe. Interestingly, Elgar was a self-taught composer.
