Maths Across the Curriculum

Here at Swain House, maths across the curriculum is a way we can integrate maths skills into different subjects. Being numerate is the ability to understand numbers and use them effectively and appropriately in everyday life. This builds confidence that children can take into adulthood.

Integrating maths across the curriculum is a way in which we can develop essential skills without explicitly teaching them as part of a maths lesson. It will also improve the pupil's ability to relate maths skills to other subjects and themes. Pupils will also gain a greater understanding of how different mathematical concepts might be applied in different situations.
