Joint RP groups (Hanson and Girlington)

24.6.26 - Our RP pupils from Swain house joined the RP pupils from Girlington school for a fantastic Sports Day at Hanson School. We all met on the field on the hottest day of the year, where the children took part in a variety of relay races and running activities. Thankfully, there was plenty of water available to keep everyone hydrated.

We then moved into the main sports hall to enjoy even more fun events, including the egg and spoon race, sack race and other exciting team challenges. The children showed great enthusiasm, teamwork and determination throughout the day. After all the activities, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch in the main dining hall, with chicken burgers followed by chocolate cake.

We also received a medal each. We came back to SH feeling exhilarated, exhausted and overheated after such a brilliant day! Mrs Cassandro
On Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th June 2025, pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6 in Girlington’s Resourced Provision joined our Swain House RP pupils for a two-day intensive PSHE-style workshop delivered by Sign Health. The sessions focused on key health and wellbeing themes such as friendships, internet safety, and safe touching, specifically designed for Deaf children and young people. Delivered in British Sign Language (BSL) and led by deaf leaders, the workshops provided accessible and engaging opportunities for pupils to learn how to stay safe, understand their bodies, and build confidence. The sessions empowered our pupils to explore important topics through discussion, role-play and visual resources, helping them feel informed, connected and confident in managing real-life situations.
