Maria Glott visits Year 3 to share what it was like working for Sir Titus Salt.
We learned lots of interesting facts and realised Sir Titus Salt was very strict!
In our science lessons, we have been looking at healthy lifestyles and our body.
We looked cloesly at the food plates and worked our how much nutrients we needed daily.
Our favourite acitivity was creating the human skeleton.
In our English lessons, we took part in a learning hook for the book 'The Whole Truth'. During this we used a conscience alley to persuade the walker we were telling the truth. We took our learning outside where we used adjectives to describe the different objects in our school grounds.
We have learnt new rugby skills in our PE lessons.
We were lucky enough to be taught by Jonny from 'The Jason Robinson Foundation'.
As part of the 'Proud to be from Bradford' topic, Roald Dahl based thier learning on Sir Titus Salt. We looked very closely at his important work and the huge impact he made to the city. We took a trip to Saltaire to see some of the work he created. The class loved the experience!
During our geography lessons, we have been locating the different countries inside the United Kingdom. We then looked more closely at the different capital cities and where they were located. Using the atlas' to support our learning, we located Bradford in the West Yorkshire region.
In our RE lessons, we have been learning all about the Jewish faith.
We have been listening to different Jewish stories and how slaves were abolished.
We created freedom posters to show how they may have felt.
We also had our very own Seder meal which Jewish people have on Passover.
We made our very own vegetable tarts during our DT topic 'Eating Seasonally'.
We looked at a variety of diffferent fruit and vegetables and located where they grow.
As a class we decided to use vegetables that are grown in the Autumn season.
