Measures in maths!

Art Week in Anne Fine Class!

We really enjoyed learning new skills during our Art week. We learnt about how shading makes drawings come to life and practised this before setting to work to create a poppy. We used the technique of frottage, where we explored different surfaces and made rubbings of the different textures.

Children in Need

We enjoyed raising money for Children in Need, we came to school dressed in spots or pj's and had a bun sale!

History Day - Proud to be from Bradford.

Year Three had an amazing history day on Monday. In the morning we had a visit from local historian Maria Glot, who told us all about life in Saltaire after it was built. She brought in lots of interesting resources and artefacts to bring the history to life. In the afternoon, we visited the village of Saltaire, looking at the different municipal buildings, the houses and other features. We then had a quick stop at the playground in Robert's Park. What a brilliant day!

Proud to be from Bradford.

We started our Proud to be from Bradford unit based around Saltaire and Sir Titus Salt with a geography lesson. We located the UK on a work map, located Bradford and Saltaire. We worked in teams to piece together a jigsaw of the UK and labelled the capital cities, Bradford and Saltaire.

First week in Anne Fine Class!

Anne Fine class have had a brilliant start to Year 3. We have been learning all about who our classes are named after and who our house point teams are named after. We focused on David Hockney, collaging some of his work and creating our own version of our favourite piece of art. Our artwork was amazing!
